Cascina Flino Paolo Monte established his winery in the early 1990's, but the vines had been in place since the 60's. His southern facing vineyards soak in the Piemonte sun perfectly to complement the limestone and clay prevalent in the soil at Diano D'Alba. He only produces 10000 bottles a year on this small plot of land. Paolo's hard work and insight has made the wines truly unique in every way, shape and form.
The region of Piemonte has always been well-known for its bountiful food, white truffle, and unique wines. In particular, the Langhe zone encompasses the highly regarded Barbaresco and Barolo wines that are made from the nebbiolo grape varietal. The moderate climate of this region enables the grape to mature slowly so that its flavor has great depth and character, yet Piemonte's varied elevations and exposures produce world class wines for everyone's tastes.
