CampaniaCampania is a province known for its delicious produce and fantastic buffalo mozzarella in the napoletano pizzas, which arguably began in the 1800's. The people here are always emphatic about what they do, and the enthusiasm carries over to the food and wine. Aglianico is their indigenous grape which makes a rich red wine, while the whites are Fiano D'Avellino, Greco Di Tufo, and Falanghina. All three whites are truly unique with good fruit and acidity.
- Giuseppe Boccella
Giuseppe Boccella plamted his grapes 60 years ago in the hope of providing good Aglianico wine to the Castelfranci zone near Avellino. He didn't realize that his vines would develop into some of the best fruit in Campania. Situated at 1800 feet above sea level, the climate is perfect for the autochtonous varietals such as Aglianico and Fiano di Avellino. Today, Giuseppe's wine is tended by his family of two boys and two girls who will carry on the family tradition.
