Puglia Bordering the Adriatic Sea, Puglia has become a must-see destination among tourists in the last five years. With the signature 'Trulli ' structures around Alberobello one can find the Pugliese culture very different from the rest of Italy. The cuisine near Lecce and Brindisi focuses on seafood, but eggplant seems to be part of every family's meal. For years Puglia made bulk foodstuffs along with bulk wine, but many producers have ramped up the quality of indigenous red wines such as Primitivo and Negroamaro.

'Masseria' is a typical Apuglia term denoting an agricultural farmland. As early as the 1930's the Benegiamo family owned the farm to produce the typical Pugliese products needed during the particular era. After suspending production in the 1970's, Achille Benegiamo and hie three sons decided to replant the farm in 1995 with new Primitivo and Negroamaro clones. They then decided to grow these grapes with biological methods and farm them sustainably.
